Mine Ventilation Heat Recovery Unit

In cold-region mines, vast volumes of ventilating exhaust air (2–15 °C) are discharged while fresh intake air must be heated to prevent shaft freezing. A mine ventilation heat recovery unit transfers that waste heat to the intake air.

Why not rotary in mines

Exhaust air is dusty and humid; a rotary wheel clogs and cross-contaminates. Use plate or heat-pipe exchangers — isolated streams, washable, no moving parts.

Benefits

  • Shaft freeze protection: pre-heat intake air in winter.
  • Fuel savings: cut heating cost 20–40%.
  • Safety: stable underground climate.
