Offices, schools, retail and pools ventilate for thousands of hours a year with a real moisture load — an enthalpy wheel is often the highest-effectiveness option, paired with DOAS.
Large Industrial Process
Continuous process exhaust with a steady latent load is a strong wheel candidate — provided the exhaust is clean enough to avoid fouling the matrix.
Non-Sterile Laboratories
Where the exhaust is not hazardous, a wheel gives top effectiveness; sterile or contaminated labs step down to plate or separated recovery.
Where a Wheel Is NOT the Right Call
- Mines / tunnels → heat pipe or plate, never rotary (selection rule). See heat-pipe applications.

- Pharma sterile zones / contaminated exhaust → streams must not mix; use separated recovery.
